Barb Stearns, Contributing Editor, Music Analysis

Barb is a twenty-something, vertically challenged southpaw who lives and works just east of Seattle. A fan since 1982, she stole her older sister?s Journey albums without remorse. She has a scary collection of memorabilia and can be found writing even scarier fanfiction about the band on dark, stormy nights. She posts under the alias of Sahaqiel and is generally obnoxious in any case.

Other interests include astronomy, biking, and running her mouth as well as a homepage which can be found at http://www.journeylibrary.com . Kudos, raspberries, Pez and threats of litigation can be sent to : librarian@journeylibrary.com

Carol Olsen, Contributing Editor, Biographical Author

A Journey Fan since 1982, Carol lives in Western New York State. She works full-time outside of her home, where she is a wife and mother.

She notes: "I love to travel to Journey shows/activities away from home
but don't get to do it as often as I would like."

The highlights of this infrequent "hobby" were being a part of the Journey Fan's Convention '98, attending JourneyFest in Chicago '99 and most recently, Las Vegas and New Year's Eve in Phoenix. You will find her on JourneyDigest.com as a regular contributor and member of the editorial staff, as well as here and there on-line as Carol or DPGRV, posting on this that or the other thing. While she loves Journey as a whole, and all of its numerous members (in a completely chaste and pure manner), she especially favors Steve Perry, his contributions to music both solo and as a part of the band and Neal Schon's phenomenal musical abilities, again, as a solo artist, collaborator and as a part of Journey, the Greatest Rock Band in the World.
Dan Stacy, Site Owner, Senior Editor, Webmaster, Pain in the Posterior

A fan of Journey since the days of Escape, Dan has constantly hounded folks to listen to Journey CD's until they are ready to explode. It's not enough to be in the same vehicle with Dan while a Journey song is being played, you have to actually stop talking and listen carefully to the music (read "sit down, shut up, and hold on") as Dan cranks up the volume and points out specific chord changes and musical switches to you, and then nod appreciatively, all the while wondering how soon you can get out of the car. If you don't come away thinking Journey is the greatest band in history, now, then, and forever, and if you don't realize just how much of a guitar god Neal is, you won't get out of the car without further convincing.

Other interests include working for pay (what a great concept that is), going to Journey concerts, working on his Trans Am's, and generally avoiding Char's wrath.

Debbie, Public Relations, Promotions, Editing Staff

Debbie first saw and heard Journey in 1978 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. She remembers "They were awesome. I never got over them from that point on. I have always loved Steve Perry's voice and has always gotten me out of any bad or depressed mood that I may have been in.
I went to see them anytime they were in or near Pittsburgh. We went to Wheeling Civic Center once to see just Steve and they didn't notify us but the show was cancelled and we read the note on the door of the center after we drove all the way there. I have seen them a few times and also Steve when he came by himself to Duquesne University's Palumbo Center. He was awesome.

Greg Carpenter, Contributing Editor, Musical Analysis

"
I remember the fun my cousins and I would have singing along with Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' when we were kids. I became a big fan of the band when I was given a copy of Frontiers for Christmas. A Journey concert was my first date, and my first slow dance was to Open Arms, so Journey will always be big part of my life. It's cool that I can use the skills I learned as a communications major in college to write a few articles for the JourneyDigest website." Greg is 28, lives in North Carolina, is working on an M.A. in Christian Education, and works as a youth counselor at a YMCA.

Jay Marino, Musical Analysis

Jay, age 34, is from southern California. He has a real love for Journey and says "I would like to welcome all who are from the Journey and Steve Perry force. We all have a common ground that we stand on and that alone makes us bretheren. Journey's music over the years has been so very special and their songs are, in essence, chapters in our lives.

Leslie White, Public Relations, Promotional Consultant, Design Advisor

When Leslie is not working for the State of Missouri, she's cranking out web pages for her side business, Heartland Web Creations. You can see her work at her History of Perry website. Leslie was irreparably damaged at age 12 when her sister and cousin were allowed to attend the Frontiers Tour concert at Midsouth Coliseum in Memphis, but she was deemed "too young". She immediately exacted revenge by stealing her sister's tour shirt. Ever since then, she's been hooked on the Journey experience. And special thanks to the "son of a preacher man" who made her Journey tapes and videos all through junior high school. A died in the wool Perry fan, Leslie is slowly becoming a fan of the new Journey sound. "I didn't get the import, but I had the US release preordered by October! And I did stand through one raucous thunderstorm in Little Rock to hear them play." When she's not working on web pages or chatting with the PerryList, Leslie likes to drive Dan crazy with multiple "important" e-mail bulletins. Reading Caveman's news updates is also a special delight for her. He makes her laugh.

Michelle Murray, Contributing Editor, Concert Reviews, Analysis, Promotions

Michelle became a fan of Journey before she even knew who the band was. It all started when she was 10 years old and heard the song Lights. She fell in love with it immediately, being that she associated it with her beloved hometown of San Francisco. And the rest, folks, is history. After a short-lived phase where she felt she needed to "grow out of" Journey, she quickly recognized her erroneous ways and became a huge fan of the band she fell in love with at such a young age. Since then, she has become practically a roadie, following the band literally all over the States and making friends everywhere she goes. You can read more about Michelle's "Journey journey" here.

Mike Bowers, Contributing Editor, Musical Analysis

Also known to us as "MikeB" and a Hoosier native and proud 10 year USAF Vet now stuck on his very own desolate farm somewhere near the Missouri Ozarks (proving the fact that you can find a Journey fan almost anywhere, even amongst a bunch of hillbillies)! Contrary to his six string idol Neal Schon, MikeB the "wanna be guitar prodigy" has served time in a few of the greatest garage bands best left unheard.

Brent Meyer, Contributing Editor, Musical Analysis

Brent is 25 and resides in Tustin, California. He's a California native, and is currently engaged. Brent works for an Insurance replacement company and has been a Journey fan since he knew what music was (thanks to his older brother). His brother, Thom, took him to his first concert, and first Journey concert, on the Raised On Radio tour at the tender age of 12.

Thom Meyer, Contributing Editor, Musical Analysis

Thom lives in Laguna Niguel, California. He is a 35 year old California native who is married with one daughter. He has worked for the same computer software company for 13+ years and has done everything from customer support to management to R&D where he is happily placed now. Thom says, "I have been a Journey fan since the first day Escape hit the shelves. I have seen Journey and Steve Perry on every tour since. Once I discovered Journey, I also went back to discover their previous material and found that it was as amazing as the new material I loved. I was 15 at the time. Over the years I have continued to follow Journey and have even been able to convince my brother (10 years my junior) that Journey is the best band ever. To this day we share this bond."
